A one-day module that includes access to exclusive technical material, the opportunity to put forward questions to the tutors, access to the webinar recording for a limited time and a certificate of attendance. The duration of the module is 10:30 - 15:30 UK time.

Insight into how a tyre generates grip through the contact patch, the different types of degradation and the effect of track roughness. You will also learn the latest techniques race teams use to set the tyres up and manage temperatures and pressures to maximise grip.

Insight into the different types of rigs F1 teams use to test and develop the suspension, dampers, brakes, transmission and powertrain.


Vehicle Dynamics in Rallying

What factors influence the vehicle dynamics of a Rally car? Understand the interactions between elements of the Rally car, while learning how engineers manage the impact of external influences such as gravel, tarmac and snow.

Antonis Palaskas

Antonis Palaskas holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Greece and a Masters in Motorsport Engineering from Oxford Brookes University. Currently, Antonis works as Tyre Science engineer in the Vehicle Dynamics department of Williams Racing F1. In his previous job he was a Tyre Engineer for Jaguar TCS Racing in the Formula E championship.

Tim Jackson

Tim spent 6 years as a works Rally Engineer for the Ford World Rally Team, securing 2 FIA Manufacturers titles, before spearheading M-Sport's US & Europe rallycross programs. Now back in the WRC, he heads up the test and development of M-Sport Ford's WRC project. *Please note due to racing commitments this is a recorded session.

Geoff Dymott

Geoff worked for Williams Racing for over 20 years as a Vehicle Dynamics, Race/Test Data Engineer and Senior Performance Engineer. Geoff also race engineered in F4 and Porsche Carrera Cup for Richardson Racing.
